Long before this place had an English name

But after most of the Indians had left, white settlers of a sort died here. That a place was set side for the dead suggests it was more than a few pioneers. Still, we're only speaking of maybe 250 years ago.

No money for a stone. People used large rocks and maybe a chisel. Some used trees. We need to mark our dead in some manner that transcends our measure of time.

Still the markers fade. Here is one slowly returning to the dust from which it sprang. I doubt many of us do much better.
