There are no colors in Uncle Sam's Army

My daddy, who fought in the Battle of the Bulge, was quite clear on this decades ago. Uncle Sam's Army is color blind. His words, not mine. There are no white soldiers. There are no black soldiers. That list goes on. Later, no male, no female soldiers. They are all, very simply and quite emphatically, United States Soldiers, no more and no less, and as such, a force you do not want angry with you.

So now we have the repeal of Don't Ask Don't Tell. Listen to these two United States Marines bluntly and plainly explain with no ambiguity, with no shades of grey, and with no nothing left to doubt how there are no straight marines, no gay marines, and no transgender marines. There are only United States Marines.

Semper fi!

Thank you, Jim. I knew some young men and women who needed to hear this when I was in the Navy 42 years ago; those who were gay and lesbian, and those who took it upon themselves to set the others straight, no pun intended. One of my close relatives, a brave, self-sacrificing warrior, was routinely assaulted because he was gay. He stuck it out, though I don't know how he took it for as long as he did.
