Militia movement will be packing heat at rally on the Potomac

The Pic: Members of Restore the Constitution plan their strategy for Monday's rally, which will be held on the shores of the Potomac River in Northern Virginia. It is one of several that have been held across the nation.

The Buzz: Daniel Almond, a three-tour veteran of Iraq, is ready to "muster outside D.C." on Monday with several dozen other self-proclaimed patriots, all of them armed. They intend to make history as the first people to take their guns to a demonstration in a national park, and the Virginia rally is deliberately being held just a few miles from the Capitol and the White House.

Good grief!

I have no problem with open carry. Nor with concealed carry.

My problem is with the danged fools such as the WaPo described in the article.

Will they make it all better? Oh hell no! They'll only make it worse, and I already see no alternative but to further restrict the possession of weaponry.

And you know, it's not like they've had years of training a la some martial art whereby pretty much anything can become a weapon and where such training produced the sense to not wield said weapons casually.

Oh no!

They take an afternoon's class in trigger pulling and possibly aiming, and they're ready to step out to defend their constitutional right, all in a manner surely designed, if unwittingly, to further restrict those rights.

I just hope the FBI and Secret Service have some special right of passage planned for these ignorant peeps. Maybe they can learn the hard way, but I doubt it.
