Queer the census

Stuff from the website follows.

Get the sticker that can't be ignored!

You're in the right place—you can get your very own FREE Queer the Census sticker right here. CREDO Action is partnering with the National Gay and Lesbian Task Force to make sure the census counts everyone. Order your sticker now and use it to seal the back of your census envelope when it arrives in the mail.

Get one sticker for free. Or, buy 5 (or 50) stickers; we'll donate the profits to the Task Force and their fight for full equality. For $5 we'll send you 5 stickers; for $25 we'll send 50 stickers. Stickers are 4.5" x 6" (about the size of a postcard) and may take 3-7 weeks to arrive.

So I ordered mine. Although the cause is good, I have the feeling my mail and email is going to increase. A lot.

I suppose this is why we have spam filters and trash cans.

Meanwhile, how hard would it be for the census peeps to do the right thing in the first place?

UPDATE: The web site appears to require that you (1) tweet a message, (2) post to Facebook, or (3) send an email before the order is complete. You must do this from the page. I did the first two, but from my usual Twitter and Facebook access points.

It appears that I will not receive a sticker now.

Here's the text from the email: Thanks so much for ordering a sticker from CREDO Action! Before we can ship your sticker, we need you to confirm your email address. To do this quickly and easily, all you need to do is click the following link:

Remember, we cannot send you your sticker unless you perform this final step. Thanks!"

UPDATE#2: They just confirmed my order. Probably this crowd could use a little business process advice.
