Iraqi Insurgents Hack U.S. Drones For Under $26

Iraqi Insurgents Hack U.S. Drones For Under $26 HuffPost - http://bit.ly/6trmET

Astounding. Absolutely astounding.

We have $1000 military toilet seats and likely far worse, but we do not have encrypted drone communications. Does this sound just plain weird to anyone else?

Just how long has SSL encryption been available in this world?

Now, we learn that the bad guys, also known as freedom fighters on the other side, can intercept drone feeds using materials available for pocket change.

Is there an example of greater hubris available? I doubt it. Drone makers and apparently some mil spec writers see those bad guys as illiterate goat herders or worse.

Time out. Many of those guys trained here, and by trained, I mean advanced technical degrees from our universities or the equivalent in other corners of the world.

Those bad guys are not without resources. We probably need to give them some credit for being smarter than the average camel.
