Heightened in-flight security rules eased, officials say

I fly next week, and I require that this on-going nonsense be mostly over by then. It appears that we might be headed a little in that direction.

Word is "At the captain's discretion, passengers can once again have blankets and other items on their laps or move about the cabin during the tail end of flight. In-flight entertainment restrictions have also been lifted."

Bear in mind that passengers in Toronto's Pearson needed three hours today to clear security. That is completely unreasonable. With procedures such as those, we might as well surrender to the terrorists as we are.

If we can do no better, they have already won.

Let's hope the example set by the captain in the previous paragraph is the harbinger of where we are going.
