Well, we still don't have a reason why AT&T is doing this, and the rumors abound, mostly having to do with a less than stellar data network.
New Yorkers can still go into an AT&T store to buy an iPhone, though I suspect the Droid is clipping those sales a bit. They just may not get one from the web site. Fraud avoidance, some say.
Fraud? That does not make a lick of sense.
Another point made in this article is how the laptop net cards consume more bandwidth than any smartphone, even the iPhone, can dream of.
The bigger point is, however, if you're going to sell something, it needs to function as advertised. Fortunately, I spend most of my time on WiFi.
