Watching Southwest

The peeps outside are waiting for the plane from Austin. It's scheduled to arrive at 3:10. They'll turn it around and send back to Austin at 3:35.

I'm a little surprised the folks are out there cooling their heels, but that changes in about 30 seconds.

The plane is here three minutes early. And yes, it's true: Southwest pilots taxi faster than the others.

This represents one if the things in Southwest's business model that is substantially different from the other airlines. I'm pretty sure US Airways has never turned around a plane in 25 minutes.

I need to give the devil due on this one. Of course, I could be simply entranced by the Business Select seating.

I'm cheap that way.
